RADIO DJ WORK
MSG Radio (2022-Present)
I curate, host, and DJ a weekly radio show called MSG Radio. MSG airs on KFAI Thursdays 10:00-12:00 PM CT, at 90.3 FM in Minneapolis and kfai.org worldwide. MSG Radio is the Sound of Umami! The show is rooted in the vast and complex Asian Diaspora but also draws connections between musical traditions and present-day innovations worldwide. Global queer networks and histories alike serve as inspiration. Just as monosodium glutamate unites the global south, so too does MSG Radio. A selection of archived episodes are streamable below, or at https://www.mixcloud.com/kfaiFMradio/playlists/msg-radio/ |
Mixcloud (2011-2014)
My Mixcloud includes some of my old DJ sets, as well as material from my time producing and DJing on WNUR Evanston-Chicago. Streamable below, or at https://www.mixcloud.com/minnaz/ |
DJ MoZho Show (2014-2015)
I previously DJ'd on KFAI's now-retired show "Groovin Plenty" every last Friday of the month. I highlighted various digital sub/cultures and diasporic movements of the past and present, with an eye to popular culture and current events. Unfortunately, the audio archive no longer exists, but airdates ran from October 2014-September 2015.
